Over 50 new trees planted at Gardere Lane Park
BATON ROUGE — Early Thursday morning, members from Turner Industries and Baton Rouge Green volunteered with the Gardere Initiative to help plant more than 50 new trees at the Gardere Lane Park.
The new greenery was planted around the perimeter of the park and along the walkway that runs through the park. They also planted 13 different fruit trees that the public will be able to pick from when the fruits grow.
The director of the Gardere Initiative is Dr. Murelle Harrison, she says this project is about more than just beautification.
