BATON ROUGE — One person is dead and another is injured after a Thursday morning crash on O'Neal Lane.

East Baton Rouge Parish deputies said the crash happened at 6:20 a.m. on O'Neal near Woodwick Avenue. Deputies said a car was turning left onto Woodwick from O'Neal when a second vehicle struck the turning car on the rear passenger side.

The first car then struck a third vehicle that was stopped at a red light on Woodwick.

A person inside the car was removed by a bystander who tried to help, but the person died at the scene. Another person inside the car was brought to a hospital, deputies said. No one in the other cars were hurt.

The identity of the deceased person has not been released.
