BATON ROUGE - A man wanted in a domestic shooting that injured a woman on South Flannery Road was arrested in Beaumont, Texas, officials said.

On March 27, around 1:40 p.m., Beaumont officials received a tip regarding Tyren Scott, 30, from Baton Rouge, who was wanted for attempted murder, and took him into custody.

According to an arrest warrant from the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office, Scott and the victim were in an argument because the victim had not been answering his phone calls on March 20. The victim attempted to back out of the driveway on South Flannery Road when Scott fired multiple rounds into her vehicle, which struck her, the warrant said.

The victim continued to try to leave the scene, but parked because she felt she was about to pass out, causing the car doors to unlock. The warrant said Scott got into the passenger seat of the vehicle, pointed the handgun at her head and pulled the trigger; the gun did not discharge.

Scott then left her vehicle and she left the scene before Scott began firing more rounds at her.

The victim was taken to the hospital from a Millerville Road gas station. Scott was wanted for attempted second-degree murder, possession of a firearm by a person convicted of certain felonies and aggravated criminal damage to property.
