GONZALES — The body of Iberville Parish Sheriff's Deputy Charles W. Riley, who was shot and killed at the parish courthouse on Monday, was escorted on Wednesday afternoon from Broussard to a funeral home in Gonzales.

Riley's body was escorted to Ourso Funeral Home on Airline Highway, with officers expected to arrive at the funeral home around 12:30 p.m. 

The escort started on I-10 eastbound, take Exit 173 at Prairieville, turn left on La. 73, turn right on La. 621 and turn right onto Airline Highway. 

"Please expect delays in these areas due to the large number of Police vehicles and firetrucks expected to be in the procession," officials said.
