BATON ROUGE — LSU's men's basketball roster still only has four players listed a little over a week before the team's first exhibition game against McNeese State, with a prospective player choosing to return to Spain over putting on purple and gold. 

Marcio Santos will be playing for the EuroLeague's Saski Baskonia, the team announced this week.

The Brazilian player previously played in the EuroLeague before news broke that he committed to LSU in May, but had not yet been cleared to play by the NCAA. In 2025, Santos played for Maccabi Tel Aviv in Israel, having previously played for Franca from 2018 to 2024 and Ratiopharm Ulm in 2024.

LSU head coach Will Wade's roster is still in flux, with him saying last week that the basketball team had 15 players on it. Officially, LSU's roster only has four players listed: Divine Ugochukwu, Abdhi Bashir Jr., Astin Nunez and Mouhamed Dioubate. A basketball team has five players on the court at any given time.
