GEISMAR —  A Geismar man was arrested for online solicitation of a minor on Monday following an investigation by the Juvenile Unit, according to the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office. 

The investigation began after deputies received information that Ferguson was allegedly communicating online with what he believed to be a 13- year-old girl. Ferguson later admitted to communicating with the teen and allegedly revealed plans to meet the girl, according to deputies. 

Ferguson was arrested and booked into the Ascension Parish Jail on five counts of indecent behavior with juveniles and three counts of computer-aided solicitation of a minor. 

His bond was set at $175,000. The investigation remains ongoing.
