Early voting for Dec. 10 runoffs begin Saturday

BATON ROUGE – Early voting for the December 10 general elections begins this Saturday.

Statewide early voting will be last for one week starting Saturday, Nov. 26 through Saturday, Dec. 3. According to the Louisisana Secretary of State's Office, residents can vote at the Registrar of Voters office in each parish and at other designated locationd between 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Among local proposals and property taxes, voters will decide runoffs for Louisiana’s U.S. Senate seat, Baton Rouge Metro council and Mayor-President.

Louisiana voters turned out in record numbers during early voting for the general election earlier this month, surprising the state's top elections officials.

More than 515,000 voters cast their ballots early in Louisiana's weeklong early voting period. That's 17 percent of the state's 3 million registered voters. By comparison, nearly 357,000 people early voted for the presidential election four years ago.
