BATON ROUGE — The celebration of life for former LSU basketball head coach Dale Brown will be held on Nov. 11 at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.

Brown died at the age of 90 on Oct. 23. He coached the Tigers' men's basketball team from 1972 to 1997, coaching Shaquille O'Neal and leading the Tigers to two NCAA Final Four appearances in 1981 and 1986.

Officials say the day will begin with a funeral mass at St. George Catholic Church at 10 a.m.; the mass is open to the public.

The celebration of life will take place at 6 p.m., with doors opening at 5:30 p.m.

General public parking is recommended in lots 401 and 404, with other available lots surrounding the PMAC. Seating will be general admission in the PMAC lower and middle bowl; floor seating is reserved for former players and guests of the Brown family.
