LAFAYETTE — Buc-ee's will break ground on its Lafayette location in November.

Buc-ee's founder and CEO Arch "Beaver" Aplin will attend the Nov. 9 groundbreaking ceremony for the 74,000-square-foot store that is set to be built at the northeast corner of Louisiana Avenue and I-10, the paper reported Wednesday. 

No firm timeline has been given for the $72.5 million project, but reports indicate it will be done by early 2028. 

This is one of two Buc-ee's locations being built in Louisiana, with the other being in Ruston that will be done by mid-2027. The closest location to the Capital Area is in Harrison County, Mississippi.
