BATON ROUGE — Cat Haven will hold two fall events in Baton Rouge, including its annual Cat Tales and Cocktails gala and the grand opening of its new Mid City facility.

According to Cat Haven, the events come during a milestone year for the organization, which has saved more than 24,000 cats and kittens since 1999.

The Cat Tales and Cocktails fundraiser is set for 6 to 9 p.m. Oct. 10 at The Crowne Plaza Executive Center in Baton Rouge. Guests are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes and can expect live music, a live and silent auction, a costume contest and more.

The grand opening of Cat Haven's new facility will start with a ribbon-cutting at 1:30 p.m. and a community tailgate from 2 to 5 p.m. Oct. 25 at 530 Shadows Lane in Baton Rouge. The event is themed "Geaux Cats Tailgate: Lions, Tigers and Jaguars, Oh My!," Cat Haven said.

The new home will include a cat cafe and visitors can tour the space and meet adoptable cats. The grand opening is free and open to the public and sponsorship opportunities are available for the event and the new facility.

Cat Haven says every gala ticket supports its rescue work and tickets are available here. More information about both events is available here or by calling Holly Carey at 225-636-2680.
