Attendance at Kingfish home debut triple that of Zydeco's last home opener, River Center says
BATON ROUGE — More than three times as many fans attended the Baton Rouge Kingfish's home opener as visited the Raising Cane's River Center for the Baton Rouge Zydeco's last home opener, a spokesperson for the arena told WBRZ.
Friday night's Kingfish opener against the Monroe Moccasins had 3,076 attendees. The Zydeco hosted only 919 during their home opener.
The Kingfish are Baton Rouge's newest attempt at bringing hockey to the capital city, with the Zydeco folding after three seasons. The Kingfish, which were officially unveiled with their returning name in July, are 2-0 after two wins over the Moccasins.
