PRAIRIEVILLE - Rise Community Hospital broke ground on a $5 million expansion to its Prairieville campus on Tuesday morning.

The project will add 10 beds to the facility, bringing the total to 20. The project is expected to bring 20 new jobs to the community.

The hospital has operated in Texas for more than 10 years and expanded to Louisiana last year. Since then, it has helped more than 1,000 patients recover from substance abuse.

Andy Davis, CEO and partner of Rise Community Hospital, spoke about what sets the facility apart.

"What's unique about our services is a 24/7 multidisciplinary care team that walks alongside individuals not only during their four-day stay with us but moving forward," Davis said. "Many people are trying to fight the pains and struggles of addiction. We're thankful to be in the community to be an additional resource for those needing non-narcotic medical detox services."

The expansion is set to be complete by May.
