BATON ROUGE — A man was found with a gunshot wound off Hooper Road on Tuesday morning.

An East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office spokesperson told WBRZ that the shooting happened at a different location, but that he was found along Corlett Drive around 6:50 a.m.

His wounds appear to be non-life-threatening, the spokesperson added.

Baton Rouge EMS and East Baton Rouge Parish deputies responded to the scene. A WBRZ reporter observed that deputies are actively searching the area for a suspect in the shooting. 

The nearby Sharon Hills Elementary School was briefly placed on lockdown following the shooting, but that order was lifted by East Baton Rouge Parish School District officials before the school day began.
