Back to school fun, just be careful in the sun

Back to school is here and that means recess is BACK! Children are excited to get back to hanging out with their friends and playing on the playground. While outdoor activities are fun and a great way to get some exercise in, playground equipment could become extremely hot sitting in the sun.

NOAA maintains above average hurricane season outlook

Drought Monitor: Summer rain ends the drought

There have been major improvements to the drought monitor over the last few weeks. St. Mary Parish is the only location with any level of drought.

Tropical funnel spotted in Baton Rouge on Thursday

What is known as a tropical funnel was seen in Baton Rouge on Thursday afternoon. This feature was associated with a thunderstorm that moved over the Capital City around 2:30pm.
