BATON ROUGE - No. 19 LSU softball closed out the Purple & Gold Challenge with a 1-0 win over Howard Sunday afternoon.

The Tigers scored their only run off of a Tori Edwards RBI single in the bottom of the first inning. Their defense was enough to hold the Bison to just one hit and zero runs. 

LSU improves to 12-4 on the season. They are set to host McNeese on Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Tiger Park.

NORMAN, Okla.  - LSU gymnastics' first trip to Norman ended in a loss as the No. 2 Tigers lost to the No. 1 Oklahoma Sooners 198.125-197.925.

LSU's Kailin Chio was the star of the night. The all-around sophomore finished her night with two perfect 10s: one on beam, and the other on vault.

Next Friday, Feb. 27, the Tigers come home to Baton Rouge to take on Alabama.

Comeback falls short: LSU men's basketball's loses at Texas

AUSTIN - LSU men's basketball took yet another SEC loss. The Tigers lost to the Texas Longhorns in Austin 88-85.

LSU did trail by as many as 17 points, but the comeback fell short against UT. The loss marks LSU's 11th defeat of the season in SEC play.

Max Mackinnon returned to the lineup and led the Tigers with 27 points. Marquel Sutton chipped in with 21.

LSU's next game is back home in Baton Rouge against No. 25 Alabama.
